Dr. John C. Ninfo, father of Rochester Bankruptcy Judge John C. Ninfo II, passed away in Rochester on December 31, 2009 at age 93. According to an obituary in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, Dr. Ninfo was a veteran of World War II, having served as a medical officer with the 10th Mountain Division in Italy, for which he received the Bronze Star. The obituary also reported that Dr. Ninfo helped establish the OB-GYN Department at Highland Hospital.
Margaret D. Ninfo, the mother of Judge John Ninfo, passed away two weeks after her husband, on January 15, 2010, at age 93. According to an obituary in the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, Mrs. Ninfo was a graduate of brighton High School and a life long brighton resident. She was very creative and worked as a graphic designer at Hickon Manufacturing.
Judge Ninfo and his family has our sympathy in this difficult period.
